Just finished processing Spot. He was one of the two pigs Kristopher raised for his first year doing pigs for 4H. He was 310 last week at fair. Hanging weight was 214 on Tuesday and we ended up with 168 in the freezer. That’s just about a 78% yield from hanging weight.

Chicken processing day!! Original plan was to butcher this weekend but we were losing too many birds lately so decided to get it done. Started with 30 and ended up with 18. Biggest bird was 7 pounds 12 ounces with the smallest being 3 pounds 1 ounce for an average of 6.34 pounds per bird. Not the best numbers we’ve had but it’s homegrown meat in the freezer.

Finished the new rabbit tractors and can honestly they all look a lot happier and hopefully will grow faster.

Long day today. Started driving at 6 in the morning to pick up a couple of pigs from This Little Pig Farm in Centralia, WA. Ended up with Cookie Dough and Spot. Once settled in we checked on the baby rabbits and they are doing pretty good. One litter was 10 (9 left) and the other was two. You can definitely tell the difference between the two. And of course can’t forget about the 8 new Americauna baby chickens.
