Here’s another Fresh Review, and this time, it’s
Curry and Kabab!
When I got home after work, the wife said she was in the mood for Indian cuisine, and I was happy to oblige! I love Indian cuisine, and these guys knock it out of the park! We’ve door dashed Curry & Kabab before, but this time we went inside for a proper dinner. I love how the outside is unassuming, but super cool when you walk through the door!
For starters, we had garlic naan, Keema naan (stuffed with spicy ground lamb), and Chili Paneer (fried cheese with onion, pepper, and a sweet chili sauce). Both naan breads were incredibly tasty, the spicy lamb was not super spicy but the seasonings were on point. The Chili Paneer had so much flavor, I could have gotten full just on that! It had a nice crispness to it, and now I know what to do with the big block of paneer I got from Costco! 🤙🏼🤙🏼
For the main course, I had the Kerala Fish Curry. I asked for medium hot to gauge how spicy it would be as it had 2 peppers next to it on the menu. I was on the fence between it and a spicy shrimp dish, but I was sold when I found out the fish was salmon! The salmon was flaky, the sauce was exploding with flavor, the basmati rice was nice and fluffy, and the burn was nice and slow. Instead of the spice presenting itself on my tongue, I felt my entire body slowly heat up as I continued eating. It was a full sensory journey!
Mandy had the mango curry chicken, mild, with a side of coconut rice. The chicken was beautifully cooked, the mango curry was excellent with notes of saffron and cilantro (not 💯 on the cilantro part, it was just something that we personally tasted), and combining it with the coconut rice? Holy 💩 - what a combo! That coconut rice, folks, is an absolute party in the mouth! With fresh shaved coconut on top, it blended so well with not only the chicken, but with that spicy salmon it was pure nirvana!
My kiddo had the sesame chicken appetizer, and he throughly enjoyed it! Great crisp with the chicken, and their sweet and sour sauce was the most flavorful version I’ve ever had! I haven’t had a better sesame chicken or sweet and sour chicken. It’s the perfect safe dish if you’ve never had Indian cuisine!
We arrived before 6, and we were home by 7:10. Total spent for the 3 of us - $84 before tip, and worth every red cent! If you’re trying for the first time, and you’re worried about the spice - don’t, just get a side of yogurt to help cool the burn, and pay attention to the chilis on the menu! Thanks for reading!
