🌿There is a comforting kind of quiet that settles over the kitchen when I bake.

The world feels softer… slower. I’ve always believed that the simplest rituals are the ones that shape us — the way warm butter smells in a pan, how flour feels between your fingers, the way a recipe becomes a memory after you’ve made it a hundred times.

My family inspires almost everything I bake. Every flavor carries a little piece of the people I love — woven into moments, seasons, and stories that stay with me.

And that’s really what Olive & Cord is about too… the small rituals that become part of who we are. The Mediterranean has a way of teaching you that life isn’t lived in the big milestones — it’s lived in these quiet, ordinary moments at the table, in the kitchen, at the stove.

Moments that ask you to slow down, breathe, create with your hands, and let time stretch for a little while. So today, as I mix dough and grate citrus and watch the sunlight move across my counter, I’m reminded why I started all of this — to share the beauty of those everyday rituals.

Tomorrow at Tiki Docks, we'll have a freshly baked Rustic French Boule made from our Olive and Cord Rustic French Boule baking mix, served with homemade dill dip for sampling.

We'll have our Olive and Cord baking mixes available, and we'll be sampling our Dill-Infused Rustic French Boule.

This versatile loaf is delicious sliced warm with butter, served alongside soups, charcuterie, or your favorite pasta dinner. It also makes an incredible savory appetizer—simply hollow out the center, fill it with your favorite dill dip, and use the bread for dipping. It's always a crowd favorite!

They happen over a cappuccino, a simple breakfast, and an hour where the only thing on the agenda is to slow down.

Lately, I've found myself escaping to Soraya Cafe in Ormond Beach. Tucked just off Granada Boulevard, it feels like one of those little cafés you'd stumble across while wandering through Europe—beautiful, welcoming, and the kind of place that quietly encourages you to linger. Their story is rooted in creating a space inspired by culture and hospitality, and you can feel that the moment you walk in.

This morning's agenda? A cappuccino, a warm breakfast, my notebook, and planning this week's Olive & Cord projects.

These quiet rituals are exactly why I started Olive & Cord in the first place. Not to rush through life, but to savor it.
