For anyone mystified by gazpacho… here’s a secret: start with SpringRain Farm and Orchards glorious heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapeño, Anaheim chili, red onion, cilantro, cumin, garlic, olive oil & salt and pepper. It’s easy to wash, cut and prep batches in Large Mason Jars before blending batch by batch. Chill 2-4 hours and serve with a drizzle olive oil, minced cucumber, fresh chopped basil, a toasty side of The Cottage, Community Bakery focaccia and fresh pour of Propolis Montem Dry-hopped Saison…cheers!

Once again I am Deep in the Black Currant patch carefully collecting tiny bouquets of plump pungent berries. It is a tedious task in the increasing heat of the day, immersed in thicket, hiding from the burning sun, inhaling the pungent heady perfume of the ever ripening harvest. The task is impressive, daunting and sometimes exhausting, but there is something about the magic of that complex fragrance that lingers on your skin, tangles in your hair, follows you home to creep into your dreams and wakes you with the need to return and find the heart of that essence again.
