This deep breath chest salve has been a life saver during this cold/flu season. Thankfully "fingers crossed" we have stayed healthy but when I'm feeling a bit congested from going back and forth to the barn this stuff is amazing at clearing those sinuses! I found a product online that I wanted to try for my chickens, but it seemed pretty pricey at $30 for only 12oz. Which you would mix with 30-50lbs of chicken feed.

With most of my chickens being older I wanted this all natural product because it helps boost immunity, prevent pests and parasites, improve feather and egg quality, and support circulation, digestion, and respiratory health.

I made my own and for the exact same thing I'm able to make it for under $7 for that same 12oz bag. I purchased everything in bulk so I have even more bang for the buck! Plus I reused a horse supplement bucket for storage. 😁

Hidden Horseshoe Homestead isn't just about horses but about making life better, healthier and happier!
Today was my first attempt at making homemade mouthwash!
It is literally 3 ingredients plus water...no fillers, color additives, etc. Just good old fashioned organic Cinnamon, Cloves, and Anise Star! That's it!

These three spices are powerhouses!

Cinnamon can help prevent cavities, treat gum disease, and fight fungal/ bacterial infections and help relive pain.

Anise star has high amounts of antibacterial compounds that fight against harmful bacteria that cause tooth decay and gum disease. It also helps eliminate bad breath.
