Bard's Blue Ribbon Pigs Join us for the 45th Annual Bard’s Blue Ribbon Pig Sale

Portage, PA Market hogs are available for sale to customers during January and August.

For 40 years, Keith Bard and family has been breeding, raising, and selling Grand Champion "Bard's Blue Ribbon Pigs", located in Western Pennsylvania. Every year in April, the Bard family offers around 100 of our own (no outside consignments) locally bred pigs up for sale at our annual auction, held at the American Legion County Fairgrounds in Ebensburg, Viewing the feeder pig selection begins at

5:00 pm with the auction starting at 7:00 pm. We have a proud history of originating proven livestock with our sale history including over 166 Grand Champions, 144 Reserve Grand Champions, and numerous class winners. As a recognized producer of superior quality pigs our animals are quite often sought after by members of 4-H and FFA for project pigs. These animals are shown at county fairs, jackpot shows, the Pennsylvania Farm Show, the Keystone International Live Stock Expo and other events throughout Pennsylvania and neighboring states. Our stock is bred to produce pigs that will grow well with proper feed, and care. We strive to select sires that possess traits of strong bone and conformation to allow proper growth and movement. This allows our pigs to reach healthy market weights, with conditioning that is pleasing to our consumers. We also sell feeder pigs outside of our auction, in late April, and again in mid September for those wishing to raise livestock for their own use.
