Fox Ranch

Fox Ranch A ranch We got into the breeding business right after both of us were finally retired. But, it's a dream my husband had and I came along for the ride!!

We've worked harder on this than some of the things we did in the military. Amazing how you begin a new business just as the economy tanks!! We have all these horses and no one to buy them!! So, we'll feed them, care for them and train them!!

Jeleane is inpatient rehab at the Tuscon VA. Still in lots of pain but looking towards going home Monday or Tuesday (11th or 12th)

Okay, it's now Sept and I haven't written anything for this site. I keep thinking we should just take it down. We're looking at sending the horses who are still young enough to a Sanctuary and they get horses ready to sell as well as use it for disabled kids. We already know we can't sell them. That will leave us with Britt's two horses, Heather's popped knee horse and all the old ones. Mine looks like she hasn't been fed in forever. But, she eats the same amount she always has but it just doesn't stay with her. She was about 15 when I got her so she must be getting up there close to 30. Bruce's horse also is aging although not quite as old as Shawnee. my horse. Choctaw wants nothing to do with halters, lead ropes or anything that may look like it includes work. Those two and Jenny the mule will stay here. Mule doesn't belong to us but the guy she belongs to doesn't want her back. So she has been eating here for several years. That will definitely bring costs down for hay and feed!! Just need to start the process. Will get it done!!

I know I'm not all that consistent when writing about the ranch but there isn't a whole lot to write about since we sold the cows. Would like to sell off some of the horses also but unfortunately none of them have been worked with in many years. We do have some nice horses but they feel privileged in not having to work.....just eat. The dogs and cats are just as spoiled!!

I keep getting daily messages from FB on how to manage the advertisement for our business Fox Ranch. This page has been more for entertainment than for business. It also shows how things are around here and of course shows some of our adventures.....especially when we were breeding. Now we're like our elderly horses. Just lawn ornaments and nothing more!! Thanks to all of you who come and check this out periodically. Weather is getting colder....nothing like some of you but for our thin blood, it's cold. I do have a feeling we will be seeing some white stuff this year!!

Have not written much since we sold all the cattle. Things have slowed down considerably so there isn't that much to talk about. The monsoon started a bit later than usual but we have had some rain lately. Roads are always bad whether it's dry or wet. Still have feral cats who seem to forget they are supposed to hunt outside and not come in to get food and water plus treats. Just had another momma give us more kittens which is not something we wanted. We keep trying to give them all away and for some reason not working. We have some who don't want anything to do with us and run...like they should when they see us. Those stay under the house but come out and in for whatever they feel they need. If the weather is bad, they will come in and spend the night inside once all has settled down. Always some animals we are dealing with!🙃🙃🙃

Have not written or posted anything here as we are working on Scuba Diving right now. Fox Ranch maintains itself with the help of family!

Still getting "suggestions" from Facebook about how to run a business. Not a business any longer since we have tried to sell what we can. I do appreciate all of you who come on here and check to see if there is any news. Not much to talk about as we continue with outside distractions. Used to call them journey's but now they just interrupt the flow of craziness here.

I haven't written anything on here for a while as I've been gone. Brandon and I did a 29 day 5,500 mile trek across the US. We had a great time did the things he wanted to do. Saw ballgames, skated on ice for the first time, got to see what sky diving was like in one of those wind tunnel things and loved it. He also spent time fishing and cooking for the whole group the last night. Then we came home!!

Facebook continues to tell me to write on here and they want to do something with the page. Not sure what they want to do but if it's anything I don't want I'll take the page down.
