Dear Faithful Corn Customers,

After much reflection and discussion, the Gisler Farms Family has made the difficult decision to close our beloved corn stand permanently.

With our loss of Kim Gisler, the Corn Queen of the San Joaquin, it became clear that we could not continue without her. This decision marks the end of a memorable era for our family and our community. Gisler corn has been a cherished tradition, as it spanned multiple generations of the Gisler family dating back to 1972.

As this corn chapter comes to a close, we want to share our immense gratitude for our loyal customers and dedicated employees. Each and every one of you have made the corn seasons feel like a gathering of friends. The memories we created together will live in our hearts and forever be etched in the history of our family.

Thank you for making us a part of your summer celebrations and bringing a bit of our family’s passion for corn into your homes. Your support and patronage will always be remembered.

Dear Family, Friends, and Faithful Corn Customers,

With heavy hearts, we share the news of the passing of our beloved Kim Gisler. She passed away at Sierra View Hospital on January 15, 2022, with her husband, Dave, by her side.

Kim was an integral part of the Gisler Farm Corn Stand starting 36 years ago working with Dave and his parents, Helen and Leo Gisler. Years later, the Corn Queen Crown was passed from Helen to Kim. She cherished the honor of this role and shared her enthusiasm with her children, Matt and Katie, and grandchildren, Luke, Cayson, and Kennedy. The corn stand became the family hub. If you wanted to visit the Gislers, you knew where to find them in the summer.

The highlight of the farming year was the corn stand. For Kim, the success of the business revolved around putting customers first and giving them a memory of connection and kindness. Kim was the driving force behind the positive experience and environment that you could find at the stand. From early season pep talks with the employees, to warm conversations with customers, she made everyone feel welcome. Both employees and customers became fast friends with Kim.

Kim will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, and “Mimi” to her grandchildren. However, to her corn customers, she will always be the “Corn Queen of the San Joaquin.”

Kim was a gifted leader in our community and a devoted, passionate, and loving member of our family. The family is still processing our tremendous loss. At this time, we ask for a pause in all inquiries as to the future of the corn stand. Things are ever evolving, and big decisions will need to be made. Thank you to our loyal customers and community. We will keep you informed as we move forward.

There are no goodbyes. Wherever you will be, you will be in our hearts.

Only 2 more days to get your corn!

Did you know you can freeze it? We recommend cutting it off the cob and placing it into ziplock bags. No blanching required! It’s great for soups or sautéing during the winter!

We will have modified hours for the safety of our employees all week long. We are opening at 8:00 am and closing at 1:00 pm due to the extreme heat.

**As a reminder, do not leave your corn in the hot car during the day as it will “cook.”
