we had such a lovely night on the farm

kelli schaefer broke hearts and grew plants with the power of her voice, her words

and dragging an ox through water brought the stars out and created new galaxies

while we all swayed and swooned and were wooed into remembering we are alive

Kelli Schaefer : Mirroring the expansive noise and incisive shadow of PJ Harvey, with the fearless abandon of Nick Cave and vocal play of Bjork, Schaefer travels at light speed through the American landscape so many left and forgot to examine. It's art-pop with depth and vision, the product of an artist who not only carved out a space for herself but has grown into a voice with the potential to shape a landscape.

Brian Mumford's Dragging an Ox through Water perform songs rooted in folk and country traditions, though ruptured, complicated, and complimented with broken textures of feedback, drones, tape hiss, and homemade oscillators. Chance elements and candlelight sensitive instruments destabilize customary electro-amplified-tightness & introduce improvisation to the recitation of these songs.

Dragging an Ox through Water has releases out on Mississippi Records, Awesome Vistas, Sweet Dreams Press, Stank House, Musical Impressions, & more.

some recent excitement on the farm

in july we were very excited to host Portland musician Julia Waters and Southern Oregon's Fire Your Boss on the farm

it was such a joyful event full of energy and love!

also, we have a new greenhouse which means i don't have to start all our plants in our very ill-suited utility room. it's a real beauty of a greenhouse and im so excited to have its first round of starts growing strong in there

and lastly, we've been experimenting with selling at the rocky butte farmers market ( )and it's been such a lovely experience. they are so kind and supportive and make you feel like everything you grow is a miracle! if you haven't, you should check out rocky butte (81st and Siskiyou -ish) saturday mornings - opens at 9 am
