Last week we had the pleasure of hosting our good friends from for a special collaboration brew ahead of Wavy Days. Together, we dove deep into traditional brewing techniques to create an Austrian-inspired lager that’s shaping up to be a true fest favorite.

The weekend lineup just got even better with three returning beer releases hitting coolers and draft lines today:

Long Distance Runner – West Coast IPA
A modern West Coast IPA inspired by some of our favorite hop-forward beers. Crisp, bright, and endlessly drinkable, Long Distance Runner delivers layers of citrus peel, pine, and resinous hop character with a clean, refreshing finish.

Oceans – DDH IPA
Inspired by the endless pull of the Atlantic, Oceans is a refined expression of everything we love about modern IPA. Double dry-hopped with Citra and Strata, this 6.5% IPA brings waves of tropical fruit, bright citrus, and subtle dankness, all wrapped in a soft, approachable body that keeps you coming back for another sip.

Beachfront Property – Pilsner
Our take on a crisp, hop-forward pilsner brewed for easygoing days and warmer weather. Featuring layered noble hop character balanced by crackery malt and a snappy finish, Beachfront Property is light-bodied and refreshing, the kind of beer that feels right at home by the water.

We’re stoked to unveil a fresh new look for one of our classics: Neon Sails IPA. Same beer you know and love, now wrapped in an updated label that shines just as bright as what’s inside the can.

We’re incredibly excited to welcome back one of our favorite lagers, Beachfront Property.

This easygoing pilsner is inspired by the classic German Pils, light-bodied, crisp, and full of flavor. Brewed with Hallertau Tradition hops, Beachfront Property delivers a classic noble hop character balanced by a clean, crackery malt profile.

Light straw in color and brilliantly clear with a white foam head, this lager opens with subtle floral aromas, fresh hay, and a touch of red apple. Dry, crisp, and refreshing with a soft bitterness that fades quickly, Beachfront Property is made for easy drinking during summers best days.

Congrats to our friends on another incredible opening weekend. One of Maine’s premier seasonal food truck parks, Cogdon’s After Dark brings together great food, live music, and an unbeatable summer atmosphere.

We’re proud to have three Mast Landing beers pouring all season long, including two special donut-inspired collaborations brewed with the crew: our Honey Dip Lager, served with a glazed donut on top, and our Raspberry Jelly Donut IPA. You’ll also find our pale ale, A Beer Named Duck, in cans throughout the summer.

Be sure to swing by Cogdon’s After Dark this season for good food, cold beers, and great vibes all summer long. Cheers!

We’re open today (Memorial Day) at both our Westbrook & Freeport taprooms.

Our friends will be serving up some of the best lobster rolls around at our Westbrook location, while our neighbors will be holding it down in Freeport with their always-stacked menu.

We had the pleasure of hosting our good friend Nick from last week for a special collaboration brew day.

Pulling inspiration from both East Coast and West Coast styles, the day turned into a fun exploration of expressive hop character, classic influences, and the friendships that make this industry so special. We’re incredibly excited about how this one came together.

Meet Matt Groff, our Director of Brewing Operations here at Mast Landing.

Matt has spent the last 12+ years dedicated to brewing, including the last five helping lead the brewing program here at Mast. From brewing traditional styles in Indiana, to time spent in Boston, to now calling Maine home, his passion for craft beer runs deep.

We recently sat down with Matt and asked him a few questions.

When we asked him for his favorite Mast beer, he couldn’t pick just one:

Caught on a Limb, West Coast IPA — Matt’s “love letter to the breweries and beers that got me into brewing.” Rugged, sticky, resinous hop character with a finish clean as a whistle.

Cold Space, Schwarzbier — tons of layered dark malt flavor in an endlessly drinkable package. A perfect companion for Maine’s changing seasons.

Sleeping Giant, Doppelbock — enough said.

The beer that inspired him to get into brewing? Sierra Nevada Stout. “It completely changed the way I thought about beer, a perfect balance of aggressiveness and elegance, simplicity and complexity.”

His favorite thing about New England? “The water. Brewing with it, drinking it, swimming in it.”

Outside the brewery, Matt enjoys spending time with his wife and son, along with experimenting with coffee and new drinks at home.

We’re incredibly lucky to have Matt on our team. His leadership, brewing knowledge, and positive attitude help drive the quality and consistency behind the beers we’re proud to share with all of you. Be sure to say hey next time you see him around Mast. Cheers!
