It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of beloved owner, Vince Torchia.
Vince began working at Sheridan Fruit while in high school and continued while attending the University of Portland. After proudly serving in the United States Air Force, he returned home to Sheridan Fruit, where he worked alongside his wife, Carol, for more than 60 years. Together, they helped grow Sheridan Fruit into the beloved Portland institution it became, serving generations of customers and creating a workplace that felt like family.
Vince's passion for people, hard work, and quality was at the heart of everything he did. He was always willing to go the extra mile for customers and employees, and his kindness, leadership, and dedication touched countless lives.
Although Sheridan Fruit closed its doors earlier this year, its legacy, and Vince’s, will live on in the countless lives he touched.
His family would like to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
