In 2017, when working at a pediatric primary care office, Dr. Amanda had the inspiration to start EllyPop after watching numerous sick kids in need of hydration but without natural options. As a naturopathic doctor, she would often recommend that parents make their own popsicles out of herbal tea, but also knew that this was often too high an ask of overwhelmed caretakers who needed immediate options to soothe and support their child’s healing. Finally, in 2020 she gathered additional naturopathic doctors who had a shared vision of supporting children and families with natural medicine, and they began their creative journey together. Since that time, we have enjoyed experimenting with a variety of plant and fruit combinations and have landed on 3 freezer-pop formulas that combine organic fruit juices, herbal tea, and essential electrolytes. We are grateful for the collective wisdom generated and carried forth by the traditional healers, herbalists, and doctors who came before us, and for the teachers, colleagues, and mentors who have helped us bring this project to life.

The annual PedANP conference is a wrap, and our co-founder Dr. Amanda Watters was there for all of it!

The lectures ranged from naturopathic support in pediatric oncology to managing stubborn cases of constipation. Students from Sonoran and Bastyr San Diego were there, along with a current student from the ND school, Ana G. Mendez University
and her professor, who happens to be a former student of Amanda’s.

She also presented on child abuse prevention, identifying, and reporting. It’s a hard topic and an important one, and the questions afterward were some of the best part, with soon-to-be NDs and doctors with over twenty years of practice all in the same conversation.

Next year’s conference might be in Portland... we’re keeping our fingers crossed!

What a fun day at our second annual adidas Care Fair! 🍒🍑

We had such a great time sharing samples with the team at Adidas’ Portland headquarters, and this one felt extra special. Looking back at where we were at our very first Care Fair last year compared to today, it’s wild to see how far EllyPop has come.

Big thanks to everyone who stopped by, tried a pop, and cheered us on. Here’s to many more years of this. 💛

Dr. Amanda spent the day at the annual Built Oregon Festival, surrounded by some of the best in Oregon’s food and beverage industry. 💛

She caught up with our friends at Tanglewood Beverage Co, and loved seeing another ND-led brand making waves, shout out to Lichen + Leaf!

One of her favorite moments was hearing Yvonne Smoker and Corey Scholibo talk about what makes Portland so special in this space. It’s not just the products, it’s the people: founders showing up for each other, celebrating wins that aren’t even their own, and a genuine abundance of support for anyone just getting started. That’s not something you find everywhere.

And naturally, no Portland food and bev event is complete without the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network and the ever-amazing Cara Turano.

We are so grateful to keep building here, alongside a community like this. 🍒🍑
