A September to remember🍷
HDH’s September auction achieved $13.24 million in sales, with 100% of its 2,673 lots sold. More than 1,000 registered bidders drove the total hammer to 137% of the aggregate low estimate.
An historic collection of Château d’Yquem brought more than $1.3 million, while Burgundy delivered the sale’s top lot: three bottles of 2001 Musigny Domaine Leroy, which realized $101,575. Strong results extended across Bordeaux, California, Italy and beyond.

The Adventurer’s Collection, Lots 538–796, celebrates an extraordinary collector whose passions took him across oceans, down ski slopes, behind the wheel of race cars and into the skies. Meticulously acquired upon release and stored in a customized, temperature-controlled home cellar, the collection features First Growth Bordeaux, fourteen vintages of DRC Romanée-Conti, eight vintages of DRC Montrachet, and deep selections from Harlan Estate and Screaming Eagle.

An Historic Selection of d’Yquem from One of America’s Foremost Cellars, Lots 1563–1713, presents Sauternes’ most iconic estate in remarkable depth. Beginning with sixteen 19th-century bottlings, the collection spans nearly 200 years and includes celebrated vintages from 1816 through 2001, alongside modern vintages of Y d’Yquem, or “Ygrec.”
Each bottle’s provenance has been fastidiously documented, with detailed records and nearly all original receipts retained. The w**es have remained in temperature- and humidity-controlled conditions since purchase—offering collectors a rare opportunity to commemorate historic milestones and meaningful years with w**es renowned for their longevity.

W**es from the Cellar of Jeff Johnson, Lots 1801–2225, reflects decades spent discovering exceptional producers across France, Italy, Australia and the United States. At its heart is a breathtaking array of red Burgundy, with remarkable depth from Rousseau, Leroy, DRC, Fourrier, Dujac and many more.
Upwards of 95% of the cellar was acquired upon release, with invoices retained for nearly every bottle. The w**es have also been professionally stored since purchase—including the past sixteen years with HDH—allowing collectors to bid with utmost confidence.
