May 2, 2026: Road side pay and take

Our road side pay and take stand is now open!!!

We typically open it around 9 am and close somewhere between 6pm and 7pm. We don’t have an exact science to it. Throughout the day we do our very best to keep the stand restocked.

It is $4 a bundle on the stand.

U-pick season is not quite here yet. When we decide on u-pick days and time we will announce it on this page, our answering machine and on the road side sign.

Asparagus season is completely dependent on the weather. We need consistent warm weather to continuously be open.

If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to us via messenger, phone or email. Please note we are not in the office most days and you will need to leave a message if you call. We will return all messages as soon as we can... typically within 24 hours.

Asparagus season is upon us.

Our road side pay and take stand is now open!!!

U-pick season is not quite here yet. When we decide on u-pick days and time we will announce it on this page, our answering machine and on the road side sign.

2025: Our u-pick cherry orchard is officially closed for 2025. We wanted to thank everyone for another wonderful season, as always we appreciate your support and business. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!

2025: Our upick cherry orchard will be closing for the 2025 season at 5 PM on Sunday, July 6th.

Picking is HARD.

We have no sours left and very few dark sweets.

Our price is $2.50 a pound!

Our hours are as follows:
Saturday & Sunday: 9 am - 5 pm

We are located behind 21 Brix Winery at 6654 West Main Rd, Portland, 14769

Please note when planning to visit that our hours are *DIFFERENT* then 21 Brix so please plan accordingly!

The weather forecast is predicting very warm and sunny days. Please bring water and be aware of how well YOU can withstand this temperature!!

Picking is getting harder though!

We have no sours left (generally had a bad crop of sours specifically. We do still have white sweets and dark sweets available.

We have lots of different varieties dark sweets, white sweets and sours! Sweets are almost all ripe, and our sours will be ready within the next few days.

The post cards have been dropped at the post office, the emails have been drafted and are ready to be sent... which mean we can officially announce.... ITS CHERRY TIME!
Olde Chautauqua Farms' cherry orchard will be opening on Tuesday, June 24th, 2025 at 9 AM. Please allow us the time between now and opening day to properly prepare for the season!
This year we are happy to announce that as of right now we have a beautiful crop of sweet cherries, however our sours aren't as plentiful this year. Do keep in mind that we have several different varieties of dark sweets, white sweets and sours but not every variety is ripe yet. Sours don't typically get ripe until a week to ten days after we open. As the season goes on more varieties will ripen.
Our orchard hours are as follows:
Monday - Friday 9 AM - 6 PM, Saturday & Sunday 9 AM - 5 PM
Our 4th of July hours are 9 AM - 5 PM
We are located behind 21 Brix Winery (6654 West Main Road, Portland, NY 14769). Please pull to the back of 21 Brix parking lot and you will see our stand, we will direct you to our parking lot.
Please note our hours are *different* from the wineries so keep that in mind when planning a trip to visit both!!
If you have any questions or concerns give us a call at 716-792-9440, or simply send us a message back. **** PLEASE note 99.99% of the time you will reach our answering machine, we are not typically in the office but listen to messages either in the morning or evening of each day. We will return any phone calls and messages in a timely and orderly fashion.
21 Brix does not have anymore information than what we are sharing with you! Our farm is the source of all information regarding cherries!

We will be open for u-pick asparagus on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 9 am - 11 am AND 5 pm - 7 pm. This will likely be out last u-pick date of the year.
