Goodfire Brewing Co is a full service, family friendly, independently owned craft brewery + tasting room in the East Bayside neighborhood of Portland, ME. We offer a rotating selection of 16oz cans to go, draft pours + food on site via a network of Portlands best food trucks / vendors. Located on the second floor of the historic Rockwell building, you can find our entrance in the back of the building behind Lone Pine.

REJOICE all you sour beer fans, Lutro returns to both tasting rooms!! 🍋 And for something extra special, we’ve got a special batch of 🍓STRAWBERRY🍓 Lutro for a limited time, draft only!

Lutro is a Salted Lemon Gose-style Sour (4.5%ABV) that we brew every spring when the weather starts to feel like summer…we brew it on a base of Pilsner malt, wheat, and sea salt, then we lightly sour it in the kettle before fermenting it with a liberal dose of freshly squeezed lemon juice and zest. This summer treat features a tart, crisp, and maximally crushable “salty lemonade” profile.

Right now we’re just pouring Strawberry Lutro at each tasting room, but regular Lutro is available in 4-packs to go at both locations.

Portland and Freeport are open all weekend long!

LEFT ON RED … or left on read? Either way, we’ve got a RED ALE in the house! In both houses actually, now that Portland is open for the season!!!!

We brewed this beer on the Freeport Pilot system last spring, but it’s back! It’s back with 1) an official name that won’t earn us a cease & desist (last year we called it Pat’s R€d Ribb0n AIe just because we couldn’t NOT), and 2) can availability! It’s very exciting because basically, a beer making it off the pilot system is the same thing as weekend plans making it out of the group chat.

This red ale is the brainchild of our assistant brewer, Pat Lockwood (). Brewed with Maris Otter finest pale malt, a good dose of rye malt, and single-hopped with Willamette. It’s malty, a little spicy from the rye, with notes of dried fruit and caramel. COME DRINK IT!!!!

If anyone wants to learn about Kellerbiers aka Zwickelbiers, check out this article written by 🍻🇩🇪 TLDR: Kellerbier is also called a Zwickelbier which is a German lager that’s extra fresh, unfiltered, and naturally carbonated, or as (Goodfire Head Brewer) says, “it’s a slightly elevated, good ol’ fashion lager!”

You heard it from him! And the weekend weather seems to agree 🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞 Our Almost-Kolsch, Dizzy Spell is back for its yearly debut and pairs perfectly with beautiful sunny weekend patio hangs! Dizzy Spell // Almost Kölsch // 5.0% ABV
Dizzy Spell, our take on a Kölsch-style ale, or as we’re lovingly calling it, an “Almost Kölsch”, was brewed with local Pilsner and Wheat malt, Hallertau + Crystal hops, and Kolsch yeast. We say “almost” because we’re in MAINE, not in Cologne, GERMANY.
Dizzy Spell is quenchingly dry and fruity, with rich crackery malt, and a pleasant, citric drinkability to keep you company through these uncannily warm days.

Almost Always Never is back today, pouring on draft in Freeport and in cans to go.

You know when you put someone’s face on a beer label and everyone thinks they died? Yup… that happened. So we took Chris’s face off the Almost Always Never can to avoid the confusion. Chris is alive and well, he’s just doing other things in life and no longer brewing with us…that’s all 🤗

Now back to the beer:
Portland Common // 5.2% ABV // We brew this beer in the style of a California Common, also known as a Steam Beer. We’ve called this a Portland Common, with deference to the originators of the style, and the awesome manner in which Common is cooled, fermented, and cellared. Amber in color with ample hop character from hot side Crystal and Northern Brewer hops, and a smooth, fruity finish. Our version of this unique lager style is unfiltered, lively, and built for sessioning.
