Sometimes I have the hardest time having faith in myself.
The “other” side of my bakery. Custom cookie decoration. While I give away bread and prayers, these paid orders help my family.
I often undercharge, spend countless hours baking and decorating, and fret over every detail. However, I do it while I’m also working the most important job of being mom.
I was stressing over an order, it wasn’t up to the standards I build in my head. I naturally start thinking worst case scenario. The customer will hate it. I’m terrible at this. Why do I bother.
My husband comes along to save the day but simply saying “if they knew how to do what you do, they would have done it themselves. They didn’t. It’s better than what they could have done”
Instantly I felt better. I am my own worst critic. I may not be as skilled as others who are much further along in their bakery journey but I am better than I once was. I get better with each cookie.
Sometimes that’s how life works. You have to have faith in yourself, in your journey, in your growth. It’s all a part of the process. No one wakes up an expert. All you need is a crumb of faith, a little time, and it will happen.
Putting my bakery in God’s hands was the best decision I ever made. I know he will see it through.
