Castle Update:

Things are finally progressing on the plumbing front! We went through an absurdly amount of side quests regarding permits through the county and more, so this has been a leading cause in not picking an official castle opening date, but we are close! Maybe next week we can! We are still hoping for early June!

Keep supporting our Holgate location! We are open!

Back filling pictured here for our required plumbing to be able to operate. This is the most expensive part of opening any location (we have now done this three times for all our past locations).

Our crowdfunding amount raised almost covers just the plumbing, and does not cover literally everything else.

This weekend we will be repairing the drywall in preparation for all our sink hook ups next week!

Paired all this with managing our current location, cleaning, building the new one, packing etc it has all been very overwhelming but we are surviving!

It's all about to move very fast.

What an amazing turnout for a last hoorah shindig at our current (and still open until we post otherwise) location on Holgate!

The community really showed up last night and showed the love! We hope everyone had a wonderful time.

6 years in this space. Thousands of hours of memories. What an absolute honor to have such an amazing community not only locally but now on a global reach. We literally have fans all over the world. Absolutely wild.

How do we capture it all?

We are putting together a few things!

One will be a photo slideshow on our YouTube channel consisting of memories from our time here and images we captured, as well as submissions from our community!

The second will be a mini documentary consisting of videos of this location, memories, interviews, our new castle buildout, and the coming opening of our new location (reminder our current location is still open until we post otherwise).

There's so much to try and capture, and we certainly won't capture it all, but maybe you can help!

We are building an immersive medieval fantasy hall in Oregon.
Patrons will be able to cosplay and garb all year long while purchasing handmade leather goods and our award winning mead!

Thank you for everyone who has supported us over 9 years. It has not been an easy road. Most small businesses don't last the first two years.

Even in the state of the world, we survive only because of our community. That's what keeps the fire burning.

When we first moved into our current hall, it was more than just an abandoned basement — it was nearly ten years of neglect layered into every corner of the space.

There was an open window that had been left exposed for years, allowing animals to get inside and nest, defecate, and urinate throughout the basement — even into the ceiling cavities above us.

There was extensive wood rot throughout the space, much of which we repaired and rebuilt wherever we could safely access it.

The dirt and grime were overwhelming. Thick dust, decay, and years of buildup made parts of the basement essentially uninhabitable when we first walked in.

Old, rotten beer lines were still running through the space. The sewer system was damaged, and we dealt with multiple raw sewage backflow incidents into our unit after moving in.

Power infrastructure was almost nonexistent. Nearly everything was — and in many ways still is — controlled directly through breaker boxes.

And somehow, through all of that, we brought it back to life.

We took this project on in 2020, right as the global pandemic began shutting the world down. In the middle of uncertainty, closures, shortages, and constant setbacks, we kept pushing forward day by day to rebuild the space into what it is now.

We put this building globally on the map and we transformed it into one of the most popular spots in Portland.

These pictures still don’t fully capture how bad it was — or how much work and money went into transforming it.

Here's to hoping we get our security deposit back 🤞
