Columbia Farms U-Pick Family-operated farm offering fresh produce, berries, peonies, and more on Sauvie Island. We hope to see you soon!

Located on picturesque Sauvie Island, Columbia Farms U-Pick was planted in the early 1990s. We started with one acre of strawberries and now offer more than fifteen different types of berries, covering over eighty acres. We also have flowers, tomatoes, pumpkins and all types of fall décor items. Our family strives to keep the true essence of a working farm for our visitors. Anyone and everyone is welcome to pick berries, picnic under our handmade gazebo, or simply enjoy the scenery.

Berry season is in full swing here at Columbia Farms U-Pick! We have so many berries ready for picking right now.

We are keeping an eye on the weather for this weekend. Please remember that we close at noon during heat waves 🔥 Our schedule is still TBD for Sunday, June 14.

🍓Strawberries: Mary’s Peak and Finnito still look great! This will be our last weekend for good strawberry picking.
🩷Raspberries: Cascade Premier has easy picking conditions. Tulameen and Meeker are just starting with light picking.
🧡Golden Raspberries: light picking conditions in both Cascade Gold and Double-Gold.
❤️Tayberries: these are new for us and soooo delicious! We aren’t sure how long this season will last but we’re sure happy they’re here. Decent picking conditions this week.
🫐Blueberries: our Duke variety is just starting. We have more types of blueberries that will continue through July - so this is just the beginning.
💜Blackberries: Our Obsidian blackberry variety is ready! Easy picking conditions right now but they do have thorns.
🚜Pre-Picked berries: we are still pre-picking strawberries (Mary’s Peak and Finnito) and we will start pre-picking raspberries soon!

Yes - we are open when it rains! 🌧️ A few rain clouds won’t stop us from enjoying Oregon strawberry season. Here is a quick crop update as we head into the weekend:

🍓Sweet Sunrise: pretty much done for the season.
🍓Hoods: these are getting tough to find! Definitely the last weekend for Hoods.
🍓Mary’s Peak: easy picking conditions and easy to find! We still have green fruit too, so these will continue into next week.
🍓Finnito: easy picking conditions and easy to find! We still have green fruit too, so these will also continue into next week.
🚜Pre-Picked Berries: Saturday, June 6 is the last day for pre-picked Hoods. We are also picking Mary’s Peak and Finnito 🎉
🍦Ice Cream: the flavor of the week(end) is strawberry again! Please keep in mind that each order is made individually, so there can be a 20-30 minute wait if we get busy. Our staff work really hard to make everything run quickly and efficiently 🫶🏻

Friends! It is ✨peak✨ strawberry week over here at Columbia Farms U-Pick! I just walked through our strawberry fields and here’s how everything looks:

🍓Sweet Sunrise: this is the last week for these. Come get them!
🍓Hoods: this is probably the last week for Hoods. Come get them! Go to the far, right side of the field.
🍓Mary’s Peak: these are ready and have incredible picking conditions at the far, right side of the field. It’s like a wall of strawberries.
🍓Finnito: these are ready! Go to the far, right side of the field! They still have green fruit too, so we should still have Finnito next week.
🚜Pre-Picked Berries: we are picking strawberries every morning and selling them in our market. They are first come, first served. We sell out quickly!

Tomorrow we are doing something new…

We are opening our “behind the scenes” peony cooler just for you! This giant barn cooler is normally reserved for florists. This Saturday and Sunday - for the first time ever - the public gets to shop here.

We have so many beautiful pre-cut stems for you. Even the elusive Coral Charm ✨

Our peony expert, Bill, will be onsite to help you select your perfect peonies. All stems are $3 each.

🍦Have you heard about our newest “crop?” New Zealand Style Ice Cream made right here on our farm!

We make New Zealand Style Ice Cream with a combo of Tillamook vanilla bean ice cream and our own berries. The machine presses these two perfect ingredients together to make a berry soft-serve 🥰 This weekend, we’re serving strawberry ice cream made with our very own HOODS. As berry season progresses, we will have more flavors depending on which berries are ripe.

🍓Strawberry Season is here!!🍓

All the regulars know: we crop rotate to keep our soil healthy. Our strawberry field is across the street from our main farm; we called it “Giga Field” last year so you might remember it! Its entrance is a little bit AFTER our main farm entrance. Look for the giant sign that says “STRAWBERRY PARKING ⬅️” and the giant strawberry flag where the driveway starts.

Since this field is further away from our main market, we’ve worked hard to include everything you need in one spot: parking, registers, wagons, bathrooms, and boxes for transporting berries home. You can also walk to this field if you want to get extra steps in 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️

Here is how the field is looking:
🍓Sweet Sunrise: plentiful and easy to pick! Come get them!
🍓Hoods: we have two sections of Hoods. I recommend the furthest section. It’s a “first year field” and the Hoods look great. The closer/older Hoods have some red but aren’t as ripe as the younger Hoods.
🍓Mary’s Peak: a little bit of red, difficult to find. Not quite ready yet but you can find a few.
🍓Finnito: turning pink! Not ready yet.

That’s a wrap! We are officially closed for the rest of the year. THANK YOU to our wonderful customers who visited our farm; you make all the hard work worth it. The blueberries are still going strong for our last Twilight Picking tonight! We are closed during the day today, but we are open 5pm - 8pm for Twilight Picking. This is specific for Wednesday, July 30 - so if you read this on Thursday, you’re too late! Read below for a full crop update:

🫐Blueberries: we still have a few Top Shelf near the road. We have lots of Legacies in both fields. Chandler and Calypso also look good.
🩷Pink Lemonades: we have a few pockets of ripe berries out there. Not a ton, but enough to sprinkle on top of your other berries.
💟Blackberries: the Triple Crowns are still not super plentiful. Enough to pick a few pints but I’m hoping this weekend they look better.
🍑Pre-Picked Peaches: we have more peaches from .vandyke_farms. Variety is Vivid and they are delicious!
