HAPPY CO-OP MONTH! 🎉

It’s the time of Every October, co-ops across the country celebrate our community-owned, community-centered business model. This year’s Co-op Month theme, “Built for This Moment,” reminds us that cooperatives were created to address market failures and respond to structural crises, and that co-ops thrive in the face of uncertainty and challenge (coopmonth.coop). It’s a great time to join People’s events, invest in your share, and encourage others to support People’s and other co-ops.

Invest in your share, become a Member-Owner, or donate $30 to our Pay It Forward Fund through 11/1 and receive a special gift! This year, our design manager created locally embroidered caps featuring the California Scrub-Jay.

Check out our list of Co-op Month events! Everyone is welcome to attend and all events are free.

*please note, the Neighborhood Walk is Saturday, 10/24 at 10:45!

The street mural repainting event scheduled for this weekend 8/8-8/9 is POSTPONED TIL JUNE 2027. Unfortunately the unstable air quality forecast for Friday and Saturday has made proceeding with the event this weekend untenable. We are super disappointed but confident that it’s better to be working and celebrating outside together when air quality issues from particulate and ozone aren’t a factor. Stay safe ya’ll. Come by the store this weekend and get a free People’s Food Co-op Mural Coloring Page! 🖍️🫟🖌️✍️

🎨 TIME TO REPAINT OUR STREET MURAL! 🎨

Two years ago, our Co-op community joined forces with the Village Building Convergence The City Repair Project to create a 125-foot mural celebrating our farmers market and our community - including the local flora and fauna that make this place special. Since then, we've held over 100 markets People’s Farmers’ Market on that very spot — and our beautiful mural has earned every scuff and fade.

Now it's time to bring it back to life, and we need YOU! 🌻

Saturday, June 27 | 10am–6pm

Sunday, June 28 | 10am–4pm

Sign up for as many painting shifts as you'd like via the link in our bio. We'll have refreshments, snacks, and tunes. It's going to be a party!

We're hoping to rally 100+ volunteers, so please spread the word and tag someone who'd love to be part of this! 💛
