Hi, everyone! We know you’re all ready for blueberry season, but unfortunately, things are not looking good here at the farm, as you can see from the photos. And more rain is on the way! We lost some berry bushes last summer due to the extreme heat, so we have fewer plants now. And the recent multitude of storms has caused a shortage of berries on the bush too. (The birds don’t mind and are helping themselves to what’s left!)
Bottom line, we just do not have enough blueberries to open to the public at this time. But hang on…we do have a variety of TifBlue that comes on later in the season. And hopefully we will have enough to open up to everyone when they ripen towards the end of June or in July. We will let you all know!
In the meantime, we suggest you check out Creekside Berry Farm in Red Oak, just about 30 minutes away. The owners, Sam and Janet, are good friends of ours, and they are opening up this week!
We will still post some blueberry recipes on our page from time to time and let you know in a few weeks if we can open again! Thank you all for your support and well wishes. We have the best customers!
