Bittersweet. Every year is harder than the year before! It's a blessing to have survived this long against the wild hogs & deer, the bugs, the labor shortage, the rising costs of everything but a farmer's pay, the small town politics, the physical limitations that come w the blessing of growing old.... It's not easy letting go. Especially when it's such a big part of your identity & is your family's legacy. But it eases our mind & brings us much pride passing the torch to Joel Garcia w 4G REYES FARMS. A huge congratulations to Mary & Brianna of RSG Farms w their Sweepstakes win🎉 We are grateful for each & every family & friend who has supported us ever! It's been an honor & a blessing💖

Our plants are coming along slowly. Our "helpers" eagerly taste tested all the red berries, including some pink😏 Blessed w boys & berries🍓💙🍓

Amazing how some plants were beaten down to their core like these, but the plant next to them appeared untouched. I defeatedly complained to my dad how every single year if it's not 1 thing, it's another!

His response was "Asì es la vida. (That's life.) Just wait. They may not last as long of a season due to the freezes & the hail, but they are very much alive & in 6 weeks, they will be giving us berries again. Tù veras! (You'll see!)"

God is Good Always🙏
I have no doubt that Grandpa Ed and Uncles Albert & Richard looked down from the heavens above yesterday with much love & pride. Multi-generations of us working together through the muddy gloom to make our entries for the PSF Strawberry Sift.

We are humbled with pride & appreciation to have advanced to the 76th Annual Strawberry Competition.
No matter how many years of being a part of this, every year brings it's own struggles, obstacles & hardships which ONLY TOGETHER we are able to work through & overcome to be able to continue on another year♥️

As if the little strawberry plants don’t have enough to worry about with the weather, wind, deer, weeds, spiders and ants…along comes HOGZILLA🐗

Lee Oliva, David’s grandson, took care of him last nite so we all can hopefully enjoy some sweet berries very soon😉
