Today one of my daughters and I made a Cleavers tincture. This is our first tincture and we used the folk method. We had fun walking around the property harvesting from patches until we had enough to fill 3 x 8oz jars.
Not only are we working on building our home apothecary, but I also got to pass on what I have learned about our foraging find. This was also a great opportunity to show how we forage sustainably and harvest a small amount from different patches around the property.

She even "thanked" the plants for giving us medicine. 🥰

Cleavers are great for Kidney, Liver & the Lymphatic System. They help to flush out waste, toxins and excess fluid from the body. Ceavers have anticoagulant properties and may help lower blood pressure.

It has been a while since we've posted. Some updates; we have two weaned litters of rabbits (which we will be posting a few available bucks), we have a duck sitting on a clutch of eggs! Hopefully they'll be hatching soon and we'll have ducklings waddling around again. 🥰🦆We've got the Spring garden in and added some fruit trees and bushes this year! We've been working on our home apothecary, and studying our local wild forages along the way.
