Potsdam Food Co-op A community-owned grocery dedicated to real, accessible food and strong local roots. No membership required to shop!

We champion farmers, welcome everyone, and proudly serve as Potsdam’s hometown Food Co-op, where good food brings people together. The Potsdam Consumer Cooperative, Incorporated is owned and operated by its members and is dedicated to meeting the community’s need for specialty and whole foods at the lowest possible cost. As a member of the local community interested in its well being, we attempt to use local sources whenever feasible. We strive to provide a pleasant shopping experience and working environment, with an emphasis on education, shared information and developing our relationship with the community. We encourage environmental respect through the goods we sell and in the manner in which we conduct our daily operations. We are committed to providing a model of responsible business practices based on the cooperative principles of open membership, democratic control, limited return on share capital or investments, return of surplus to members, continuous education, cooperation among cooperatives, and concern for our local community.

Friday October 16th was National Bosses Day, and we have the BEST of the best!

Jessie has dedicated 18+ years of her life to the Potsdam Food Coop, and we're thankful to have her experience and leadership. Not only does she ensure the well-being of the co-op, but she's understanding and compassionate towards staff, and informative and kind to customers. While having held pretty much every position possible at the co-op during that time, no one deserves to be the GM more than Jessie!!

Without her, we would not have the improvements we've had over the last few years within the co-op and towards our expansion. Jessie has championed the expansion with passion and persistence since the beginning and refuses to let the project fail. Her unwavering dedication is a big reason the co-op still stands today.

Thank you for everything, Jessie. We love you 💕💕.

FRESH CUT DELI OFFERINGS AT THE CO-OP ✨ we currently have some vegan Turkey and Salami from the brand Prime Roots available this morning.

❓Why Prime Roots?
Because they use Koji mycelium: an ancient Japanese fungus (instead of soy or pea protein) naturally delivering a rich umami flavor and an authentic texture.

Come get yours before they're gone!

Did you already head over to the Co-op, or River Valley or Canton Apple for your fresh bread yesterday? Lots of daily loaves and focaccia, and the pumpkin focaccia.

No markets or events for me this weekend, I'll be out of town for a couple of days. Back with regular delivery next week, and stay tuned for updated fall scheduling as the season really leans into its change. 🍁🍂I'll be in touch for a last hurrah at Canton Apples to wrap up our fall bistro!

The locally known Alex Koberda was spotted at the co-op this morning 👀 We know the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce loves to post Alex supporting local businesses, so we tried to catch a photo, but I guess he wasn't feeling very photogenic this morning 🥺.
