Sustainably farmed heirloom peaches in the heart of Potter Valley. The name pays tribute to the legacy left before them by John's grandparents.

After taking over his grandfather's orchard as a hobby in 2012, John March along with his wife Grace, decided to take their passion full time in 2014 by creating Langdon Day Farms. Langdon is a family name passed down on his grandfather's side and Day is his grandmother's maiden name. Both sides having roots in Potter Valley since the late 1800's to early 1900's. John & Grace are the fifth generat

ion to farm the same ground as the generations before them. Today, Langdon Day Farms offers heirloom variety, freestone peaches, all hand picked at the peak of ripeness. Varieties include (from earliest to latest) Gold Dust, Redhaven, Suncrest, Babcock, Fortyniner, J.H. Hale, Redskin Elberta, Rio Oso Gem, O' Henry, Kaweah, Summerset and Indian Free.

Today is soil sample day! Each year I send off soil samples to get a sense of the health of our soil and any adjustments I need to make before we get into the true growing season. Over the years of doing this, I have adjusted the way I farmed the soil and have seen incredible benefits not only in our production but also in our soils health in general. In the last 5 years I have doubled the organic matter levels, increased microorganism populations, allowed my soils to breathe easier and retain more rainfall. It’s an incredibly important task in the season.

Barefoot fruit trees are here in Northern California! Planted a couple test trees from two of my new favorite nurseries. and if you are in the Mendo-Sonoma area, head out and get your trees this weekend, the weather is great and they won’t last long!

Well, here we are oddly nearing the end of harvest and waiting on a few last varieties. If you read our newsletter you will know we had to cancel all orders this week due to no peaches, and it looks like next week will be the end of the bulk of peach harvest after only 8 weeks. If you are one of our subscribers, we refunded your order for this week and hope to just fill everyone’s next week. 🤞🏼 Any orders after that will be canceled and refunded.
📣But, we will be at .pv tonight for Thursday night Community Market with Bartlett pears, cherry plums, freeze dried, dehydrated and Ansley will have some goodies from the garden! Come hang with us and celebrate the re-opening of the cafe!!!

White Peach Fans!!!!! We had a great harvest of these super sweet Silver Logan White peaches this morning. I have some cases up for grabs if anyone wants them. Dm me to get yours now! Community Market is not happening tonight but I will be there from 4-6pm for pre order pick ups!
Fair exhibitors, these could be a wow factor add on to buyers gift this weekend… just sayin’!!! 😉

Come hang out at .pv tonight for Community Market! 5-7pm, we will be there with these striking and fragrant Silver Logan white peaches, along with some Elbertas, double delight Nectarines and a few Santa Rosa Plums. We will also have dehydrated & freeze dried peaches!
Come hungry and thirsty, will be there with pizza and Headwaters will be serving up refreshing drinks for all ages!
