On the morning of Thursday, Sept 10th, a lightning strike started a fire on the Mendocino/Lake County line on the Lamb Ranch. The fire burned up hill towards the east where it then traveled down the backside of the ranch towards Elk Mountain Road in Upper Lake. It mostly spread to the south east where it dropped towards Bachelor Valley and down behind homes on Elk Mountain Road.

The majority of the Fire was on our property which most of it burned in the 2018 Ranch Fire. Unlike the Ranch Fire, our cows have remained safe. We have less feed this winter for them to graze but they are safe.

We are thankful for local resources, agencies and fire departments, along with CalFire and Forest Service. Mostly we are thankful for every friend who reached out with words of encouragement and checking in with us, we appreciate it.

Announcement: We will not be able to attend Headwaters On Main Thursday Night Market tonight. We apologize but between the wildfire on The Lamb Ranch and our head of sales, Ashley Delbar, being 40 weeks pregnant, it just is a very busy day.

Thank you to everyone who has checked in about the wildfire. There is not much we can do right now while it burns over the Ranch Fire burn scar.

Hello! We have a bunch of new followers on here and want to introduce ourselves! Our family, the Eddie Family, has been ranching livestock and farming in Potter Valley since 1859. Our family is a blend of many families that settled here and that has provided us with a deep history.

Today we raise Angus and Hereford cross beef cattle, white face cross sheep, grass hay and silage corn. We do this as a family and love that we can build off of our strengths to produce high quality products for our community.

We hope you stick around to learn more about our activities and celebrate our wins!
