The solar fountain for the bird bath arrived today, and it works! 💦🐦

I couldn't wait to get it set up and watch it go

Tomorrow I'll be trying out the different nozzles to see wbird bath feel so much more inviting. Now we'll see how long it takes for the neighborhood birds to discover their new backyard spa. 🐦🛁☀️

🐾🎁 Arlo is convinced Father's Day gifts are for him. 🎁🐾
I tried wrapping Father's Day presents today, and Arlo immediately appointed himself Head of Quality Control.
His duties included: 🐶 Sitting directly on the wrapping paper 🐶 Stealing the tape 🐶 Following me around with intense supervision 🐶 Sniffing every package to make sure it met his standards
The look of disappointment when he realized none of the gifts contained treats was almost heartbreaking. Almost. 😂
Sorry, Dad. If your gift seems like it's already been thoroughly inspected, that's because Arlo takes his job very seriously. 🐾❤️

☀️🫖 The first batch of sun tea at the new house is brewing today, and it feels a little extra special.

It’s been a long time since I’ve made sun tea, but every time I see that jar sitting in the sunshine, it takes me right back to childhood. Every Sunday, my grandmother would have a fresh batch ready for Sunday dinner. It was just part of the routine—good food, family gathered around the table, and a glass of homemade sun tea.

Today, standing in my own yard and making a batch at our new home, I couldn’t help but think of her. Funny how the simplest things can bring back the best memories. ❤️

Here’s to carrying on little traditions and making new memories along the way. ☀️🫖🌿

First real harvest from the garden today! 🌱

Nothing huge, but it feels pretty exciting to finally be bringing something home from the garden. We harvested a nice bunch of fresh chives this evening, and they’ll be making their way into our wraps for dinner tonight. 🌯💚

🌿💧 Pond Project Update! 💧🌿

It’s not perfect, but it’s finally dug and holding water!

After a lot of digging, moving dirt, and hauling rocks, the future backyard pond is taking shape. The deepest section is about waist deep, and the water feature will be arriving this week. 🎉

There’s still plenty to do—more rocks to add, edges to finish, and landscaping to clean up—but it’s exciting to finally see it coming together. Every project starts somewhere, and this is definitely one of those “trust the process” moments!
