📢 Announcing... our WINTER CSA!!!
Many have asked (pleaded, too 😉) for us to continue the CSA share program. ... so here it is!

📍What is a CSA share? It's a weekly bag of Farm Store food, ready for you each Friday. Come anytime during business hours. It will be ready - just for you! Bring your reusable bag each week and we'll refill it with all the weekly goodies!

📍What's in the share? The Farm Store Winter CSA includes a mix of items - meat, eggs, dairy, produce, baked goods, pantry, premade meals. We're keeping it local, and keeping with a weekly theme of meals.

📍What about the holidays? We have a carefully curated plan for the holidays! Specialty items for those get togethers, plus easy meal ideas for in between - for when you're craving something - but also prepping something bigger!

📍What if I'm going away? We have you covered! The share includes "off" weeks - which you may or may not elect to use. If you know you won't be in town for vacation or holidays, let us know after signing up. We'll skip those weeks (and add that many weeks of CSA to the end).
The 10 week share includes up to 5 "off" weeks.
The 12 week share includes up to 3 "off" weeks.

📍When does it start? November 6th!
📍When does it end? no later than February 12th (but could be earlier if you do not elect to use all the "off" weeks)

📍How do you sign up? The share is paid for in advance. We accept cash, card, check, CashApp, or EBT. Once the CSA starts, there's no payment at pickup (unless you forget your cooler bag).

❄️Remember that time we bought brand new, Philadelphia made Howard McCray coolers and freezers???

We wanted to support local, support our state's industries in every way possible.

We ordered 11 units in total from Howard McCray, all made to order. 4 reach-in coolers, 5 reach-in freezers, 2 sandwich cases.

All paid for in advance, all delivered from the factory right to The Farm Store. But what we thought would be a display of well-made local product, has turned into a full-time nightmare of maintenance issues for these units.

🔧We are suffering through constant break downs of these freezers. Every. Single. Unit. Has failed. Repeatedly. Our HVAC technician visits almost weekly babysitting these lemons. The thousands and thousands of dollars we've spent on keeping these running, replacing parts, paying labor on warranty work, and then paying labor and parts on non-warranty work is astronomical. One of our units actually had a component burn up a wire inside 🔥

We thought that local businesses like Howard McCray had integrity. We thought that buying right from our own state would mean something. Because in our eyes, when you know your customer, you want to make sure they have the best experience possible. Do people make mistakes? Yes, but correct them. That's what we do. We make it right.

Has Howard McCray made things right? No. Not at all.

Plus, these units were so much more money to purchase than the other options. It's sickening. 🤢 We didn't buy the Harbor Freight model. We bought American made Sears and Robuck of days gone by. But Howard McCray is not that.

We pride ourselves in quality, yet when we expect it from others and trust that our money is well spent, it's the exact opposite.

If you've read this far, we want you to know that we value quality and integrity. We won't stop supporting local, and we don't want you to either. But not all local is the same. That's why transparency is part of how we do business.

We also know that shopping our frozen section has been at times, inconvenient. We are sorry about that. We will continue to work through these issues and try to get them resolved for consistency in our product locations (and peace of mind that our freezers are properly functioning).

🍝A meal a child could cook! Yes, here it is folks. For the people who worry they "can't cook". And one that tastes amazing, too.

Let's start from the top...
🌱 Hilltop Meadow Farms parmesan
🌱 Francesco's tomato sauce (...legendary)
🌱 Honey Brook Farm sweet Italian sausage
🌱 Double H Italian herb & cheese sourdough
🌱 angel hair pasta

🍞First of all, words cannot properly describe this bread. It's hint of sourdough tang is shadowed by the amazing soft, fluffy texture. The cheese is perfect. It's real cheese, right in the loaf. Spices that compliment. 🤌 wow.

🍴And of course, we've raved about the Francesco's sauce, the Honey Brook Farm sausage... delicious. 😊

All together, though. Amazing. 🥂..and soooo EASY to make!

MOOOve on over when you see this van in town. 🐮 It's our new and improved delivery van! 🚚

We picked her up today from Gear Signs who did an awesome job working with us to get the design just right. 🎨🖌🐓

🍇We wouldn't have this beautiful new van without the generosity of the The Food Trust. Through their grant program, the Fresh Food Financing Initiative, we were able to secure funds to purchase this van, the wrap, and many other items used in the Farm Store to help us make more fresh food accessible to our community.

🖊The FFFI funds were sourced in part from the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. We are honored to have received this grant in 2025 and are excited for the many food deliveries this van has in store for our community.

🛍In honor of all the wonderful organizations that have come together to make this possible for The Farm Store, we are offering FREE DELIVERY for the month of October. Use our website, in our footer below and in the comments, to shop the many items we have available at the Farm Store in Pottsville.

Paw Paws are back in stock!
And this is the last for 2026... grab them while they last!

In 2025 we were selling large paw paws as single fruits... BUT this year we have pint of paw paws! Yes, more for your money, too.

These are unique fruits, native to Pennsylvania. It's hard to believe, but when ripe, they are a cross between a mango and banana! (And from PA... weird?! right?)

Come on out and visit the Farm Store to try some of these wacky, but native fruits harvested locally in southeast PA.

🍎 Grab your pawpaws at the Farm Store!

Come pick up these local favorites. 🌳The pawpaws grow wild on the banks of creeks in eastern Pennsylvania.

✨Paw paws are delicate fruits, native to PA, and once a staple for Native Americans in the region. The fruit is only in season for a short time and is not preserved well.

🍴Eat the inside, but remove the outer peel and seeds. The seeds are about the size of almonds. When ripe, they have a custard texture. The taste is a sweet soft fruit cross between banana 🍌 and mango!🥭

Pawpaws are often used in ice cream!🍨

Update on Yuppy Puppy! We have a bunch of you that have been asking. We are stocked at the Farm Store right now.

🚨OCTOBER UPDATE🚨 .

Here’s where things stand with Yuppy Puppy. 🍂🐶🎃

Since returning from vacation, we’ve been dealing with illness and have been in and out of the hospital with surgeries and MRI’s. That’s why things have stayed quieter here than we expected before we left for vacation.

To everyone who checked in and sent well wishes, thank you. Chrissy Sage and I truly appreciate your kindness. Those messages have meant a lot. 💚

To anyone waiting for a reply or an update about food, I’m sorry for the uncertainty. Our focus is taking care of existing customer commitments and restocking our retail freezers weekly.

Our ingredient costs have also been rising, and sourcing quality ingredients remains a priority. We’re keeping production in manageable small batches and being realistic about how much we take on. Your continued support will allow us to keep your dog eating fresh but also affordable.

First-time customers are still welcome to purchase available, unreserved food from our retail freezers. Stock is limited, and recipes, portion sizes, and quantities may vary by location.
