Yesterday evening after the kids got home from school our sanctuary dog Vixy whom we have had for 12 years experienced a seizure. We had plans this summer to do an in home euthanasia but per usual it went the way Vixy wanted. We got Vixy from a shelter in CA in 2014. She was found with her pups in a dirt hole in an abandoned house/yard. We found all the pups wonderful homes, spayed and attempted to adopt our Vixy. It wasn't but 24hrs later that I got a call she destroyed their home. Vixy had never done anything like that here. They stuck it out a few more days but Vixy wasn't having it. The lady met me with her. When Vixy saw me her tail went to wagging and excitement increased the closer she got. The woman said she hadn't seen Vixy wag her tail once. So we brought her home and let her live her life the way she intended. And that was being the boss lady. She was absolutely the sweetest cattle dog who just adored children. I can't thank her enough for being such a good friend to the kids and even better farm dog. She was the last of our senior dogs and I hope she knows how much we loved her.
