Join us at the Art Walk Friday, September 4th (6-8 PM) on Winslow Way.

We’re excited to welcome artist Colleen Broome as our featured artist for September’s First Friday Art Walk! Stop by to enjoy her work, meet the artist, and celebrate another wonderful evening of art and community in downtown Bainbridge. Thank you to the Bainbridge Island Downtown Association for coordinating!

Colleen Broome was born in South Africa. Originally a professional ballet dancer and ballet teacher, Colleen has explored other art forms and genres including sculpture, portraiture, and landscape.

She is in awe of African women who endure hardship with dignity and fortitude and the series of four “Mother Load” paintings is an homage to their quiet courage.
Colleen has made her home on Bainbridge Island, but visits her native land to keep in touch with her African roots.
