The sun is out, the air is warm - time to get the grill fired up.

The farm stand is stocked with lamb and mutton that is perfect for the grill including:

- racks of lamb

- ground (burger time!)

We also have Scottish morning rolls, perfect for your burgers. Plus there are plenty of other sweet snacks to enjoy.

*Update from the Farm”

Lambing is our busiest and most exhausting time of the year. Two weeks of little sleep and unexpected challenges but it’s all worth it when you get to see all the lambs running about the barn. We are so grateful we were able to share this time with so many during the recent MapleFest weekend. Our final count came out at 60 lambs, that’s a huge increase on the 45 from last year and a new milestone for our farm! If you are in the market for weaned lambs we will have them available in June, just reach out to reserve as many are already reserved.

*News from the Bakery*

Now the weather has started to improve we have started stocking up the farm stand on a more consistent basis. That also means that it’s time to introduce some new products:

- Treacle Tart
- Madelines
- Madeira Cake

Come by and try them out, all are stocked in the farm stand today.

*Welcome to Poultney MapleFest 2026 Cariad Farm & Bakery*

Our barn is open, the farm stand is stocked and the tea is brewing.

Stop by from 9am until 1pm (last admission 12:30pm) to meet our sheep and visit our open barn. No promises but you may even get to see a lamb be born (we’ve already had a new one this morning).

From 1pm to 3pm we will have our Farm Experience and Afternoon Tea at the old East Poultney General Store. Come by and enjoy a traditional English experience and hold a lamb 😀. Spots are limited, $10 Adults, $5 for children.

Poultney MapleFest is coming up quickly with a weekend packed full of fun things to do.

Stop by the farm from 9am to 1pm on Saturday March 21st to visit our free open barn. We have over 20 lambs so far with many more on the way. Our farm stand will also be packed full of treats.

From 1pm to 3pm our barn will be hosting exclusive access for those that join us for Afternoon Tea. You are guaranteed to be able to hold a lamb, meet the sheep and generally enjoy a more interactive experience. Included will be a traditional afternoon tea which will include a selection of our own baked goods and English tea hosted in the East Poultney General Store.

Tickets for the Afternoon Tea experience are $10 for adults and $5 for children. We have limited space so you can reserve a slot by texting/calling us on 802-855-4311 or DM’ing us. Otherwise it will be on a first come first serve basis.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday!

Lambing starts on Wednesday. Somebody didn’t tell this girl though, we woke this morning to our first lambs of the season - twin ewe lambs! These 2 are the first of around 50 lambs we expect to be born over the next 2 weeks.

Want to come see the lambs?

Our barn will be open to visitors as part of the MapleFest weekend on March 21st. Stop by and you might even get to see a ewe give birth (remember the triplets from last year??). The barn will be open from 9am to 1pm.

Afternoon tea

We will host a traditional English afternoon tea from 1pm to 3pm. You will get extended access to the barn and a guarantee to hold a lamb plus a selection of baked goods and English tea service.

$10 for Adults and $5 for children

Limited space available.

Wow, it feels like spring today! With the next few days of warmer weather we have stocked up the farm stand. Come by and check it out!

As promised we have a new product, a very traditional British biscuit called “Custard Creams”. It’s a custard flavored cookie with custard cream filling, perfect for dipping in tea or coffee.
