In they go! 8,000 spicy pepper plants of 25 varieties are all tucked in and transplanted. Our greenhouse looks so empty. Most of these peppers will be transformed into gorgeous sauces by our talented Vermont hot sauce makers and crafters.

Quill Hill Farm is hiring for the 2026 farm season. We grow 4 acres of certified organic garlic, spicy peppers, and herbs and make pickles and garlic powder. Our farm is located 10 minutes from downtown Poultney. Full-time and Part-time positions available from May through November. Job involves doing various day to day tasks on the farm such as trellising, transplanting, weeding, harvesting, trimming/grading/cleaning garlic, packing orders, pickling, labeling, and planting garlic. The right fit is someone who genuinely enjoys being outdoors, has a strong work ethic, reliable, can work independently but also in a crew setting, and brings a positive can do attitude. Must also love garlic and peppers. If this sounds up your alley- contact Adam and Laura [email protected]

I want to take a moment to say thank you to some of the women who quite literally grow this business.

These are a few of the farmers who grow the ingredients that end up in our hot sauces, mustards, caramel, and baked goods. All of it starts with someone out in a field, the woods or a barn doing the work.

Running a food company that sources locally means we get to know the people behind the ingredients. These women are tough, thoughtful, funny, wildly capable, and they make our food better before it even gets to our kitchen.

So this month (and every month) I’m grateful to be able to buy from farms run by women who care deeply about their land, their animals, and their communities.
Food starts with farmers. And we’re lucky to work with some incredible ones. 🌱

And that’s a wrap! We finished mulching garlic yesterday 🎉. It’s always the last thing to do on the farm as the ground needs to be frozen to be able to drive the tractor over the garlic/ in the foot rows without making a muddy mess. Raking the mulch is perhaps the most crappiest of crappiest job on the farm and it feels like an epic victory when it’s over. Sleep tight garlic. We are looking forward to slower days, warm toes by the wood stove, spending time with our family and friends, and looking at seed catalogs on the coldest of days as we plan for the next farm season. Thanks for supporting our farm and major thanks to Adam’s father, uncle Lenny, and Josh Burlingame for braving the cold and driving the tractors. Cheers everyone.
