Greens Vermont Maple Sugarhouse Some of the finest maple syrup Vermont has to offer comes from our mountainside sugar maple trees. We also offer a variety of other maple products.

We make 100% pure Vermont Maple syrup, Maple cream, Maple Candies, and Maple Sugar. Traditional wood fired Green’s Sugarhouse is nestled in Finel Hollow, Poultney, Vermont, where our ancestors settled in 1774. The tradition of maple sugaring has been passed down through our family for six generations. Rich Green has been around maple sugaring his entire life. Starting out as a young boy, working o

n his grandfather’s farm in Castleton, Vermont, he soon realized that he wanted to continue in this family tradition. Moving to Charlotte, Vermont, Rich and his wife, Pam, decided to build their own small sugar house. And in 1982, they moved to Rich’s family homestead of Poultney, Vermont, and began to build the present Greens Maple Sugarhouse. The farm grew over the years, and with the help of their two sons, Jason and Justin, it became one of the larger maple sugaring operations in the area. Today, Rich and Pam continue the tradition together with their two beagles, Tapper and Ellie, who are always happy to greet visitors at the sugarhouse!

This is a family favorite! It’s really simple to make and with the left over heavy cream we make homemade whip topping, yum! Try it with your family and friends!

Ingredients:
One 9-inch unbaked pie shell

1 1/2 cups heavy cream

1/3 cup all purpose flour

1 1/2 cups Green's Vermont Maple Syrup

2 Tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

Generous pinch ground black pepper

Directions:
Preheat oven to 375-degrees. In a thick bottomed, medium saucepan whisk together flour & cream being careful to get all lumps out. Add remaining custard ingredients and cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat until it gets quite thick (about 10 minutes).

Pour the filling into the pie shell and bake for 30 minutes. It will bubble, don't worry. Remove, cool, and then refrigerate. Serve cold. Add whipped topping if you so choose!
