Squatter alert! π¨ This morning when I went out to feed, I had every intention of cleaning and prepping a small coop that we have for some young grow out chicks that we hatched and are currently residing in our dining room. Instead, I found a lovely little nest of baby birds INSIDE the coop. You might think we would either allow the chicks and baby birds to cohabitate, or clear away the nest. We will do neither. Bird nests are notorious for mites and other parasites that could wreak havoc on young chicks, or any flock for that matter, so we wonβt be bunking in just yet. These little babies are snug and starting to feather, so when and where nature finds a way to march forward, we will not interfere! Once they leave the nest, we will remove it and do a deep clean of the coop and try again. Because who really uses their dining room anyway? ππ£
