My bull numbers are limited this year but I got a few good ones. This is a March 4 born calf from Davlynn’s Grand Finale with his dam Rocky Pastures Gidget. Lots of growth on this guy.

More heifers. Maybe it’s because I caught up enough to start looking the girls over but they are starting to make you notice them. All from Davlynn’s Grand Finale. He sure makes nice heifers.

Nice solid heifer caught my eye this morning while I was irritating just after sunrise. She is from Rocky Pastures Homerun out Rocky Pastures Kiss, a Fifi daughter.

Igenity results on this year’s heifers. I have been testing my herd for 10 years. In that time the genetic experts have been updating and improving data. As the saying goes “you can manage what you measure “. In addition to what is here Igenity includes parentage results if you have parents on file and I have tests done for Myostatin on any calves out of carrier cows. I continue to learn and work to make improvements in my herd. Enjoy!

The importance of testing and knowing. Myostatin,NT821, double muscling gene. I have 4 mothers that carry one copy of the gene. Here are two of them and their heifers. Because I know which mothers are carriers I test any offspring that will be used for breeding. One of the heifers is a carrier and one is not. Both will be great but knowing makes managing easier.

A quick pasture walk between irrigation and baseball games. Homer always talking trash to the neighbors bulls. First calf heifer with her twins, doing ok, she was in heat last week. And calves enjoying the shade.
