Hello to all our interested followers!
Many are probably wondering about the silence of 2026 regarding our little orchard. Like many growers, this year has been for us full of challenges. Spring started off on a positive path. We were able to prune nicely and then we were enjoying one of our best blooms especially since a lot of our trees are aged. I was soooooo excited and looking forward to a great year. Then we had the freeze and rain and HAIL🫣 lots of hail and tons of moisture. About 5 days after the worst hail storm I have ever experienced, I went to survey the damage and we discovered that we had significant damage mainly from fire blight exacerbated by the hail storm. Needless to say we were so devastated and sad. So began a journey of watching and waiting, rain and more rain, heat and more heat and repeat. Soooooo,….we will be open today Labor Day 1-4pm and again on Friday and Saturday from 10-4. The apples we have are flavorful but not pretty. We would love to have you come help us by gleaning from the trees as directed and we will only be charging a 1.00/lb. We will continue to post what is available on a weekly basis. We hope to have c***r soon. One bright light in this saga is that we have some really nice pumpkins starting Friday the 18th. Thank you for listening and we hope to see you soon.
