Skills are the only currency left that nobody can devalue. They can't be taxed. They can't be outsourced. They can't be raised on you overnight.

The woman who can turn a cheap chicken into three dinners and a pot of stock is not at the mercy of the grocery store the way her neighbor is. The woman who knows how to garden is not at the mercy of the produce aisle. The woman who can mend, bake, preserve, and plan is running a small sovereign economy inside her own four walls, and she is almost impossible to squeeze.

This is what your great-grandmother understood.
This is what we let them talk us out of.
This is what the women coming home right now are quietly taking back.
