I put a second deep brood box with foundation on several singles. Feeding sugar water to help them build out comb thanks to barking dog Honey/Paul Childers for helping me with the idea for the redneck pump system. This is a whole lot faster than mixing it up a 5 gallon bucket at a time.

We have this year‘s honey for sale. Raw local Honey from our bee yards in Powell and Oneida. We have sourwood honey, an amber colored wildflower honey that’s heavy with tulip poplar and blackberry, and then we still have a light colored wildflower honey that’s heavy with black locust.

We also have plain and cinnamon creamed honey. If you’ve never had creamed honey, it’s the bomb.

We have an honor system stand in front of our house now so come by anytime during daylight hours. Our address is 4928 W Beaver Creek Dr in Powell or we have in it Gordon’s Drug Store, Family Haircare in Karns, and Isom Dentistry.

We also carry it at Professional Environmental Consulting in Fountain City at 2904 Tazewell Pike, Suite B.

Waxing up some deep frames. Gonna feed heavy with sugar water now that all the soups are pulled and Honey has been harvested. Gonna see if I can get my bees to draw some more comb out. I always seem to run out of drawn comb.

We are extracting our sourwood Honey this weekend and it should be available this coming week. In the meantime we have our wildflower and Black locust Honey available at the Stand in front of our house.

It’s neat to see such a distinct line where the bees switch from one nectar source to another. Here they likely show the switch from sumac to sourwood.

Shout out to Derrick with Bulwark Exterminators. It’s nice to meet some exterminators that also care about pollinators. Instead of killing bees and taking the homeowner’s money that called him, he went out of his way to find a beekeeper.

It still amazes me to see the different colors of Honey based on time of year and the different nectars that the bees bring in. These pictures were all from the same area at the same time of year.
