Our Story

Founded in 1989, Chadwick’s is Virginia's largest retail orchid nursery. The greenhouses are located on 18 acres in rural Powhatan County and retail store is right behind the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond’s Museum District. We are currently boarding 13,000 orchids for clients and there is always a great selection of blooming plants at both our locations. The Orchid of the Month Club is wildly popular and we deliver or ship gift plants and arrangements every day. Please stop by with friends or a bus full of enthusiasts.

This orchid is 55 to 60 years old and came fro South Fl area. Plant is over 2 ft tall not including the pot, flowers 5 inches tall and 4 inches wide. This was a friends orchid who died and his Mom gave it to him as a young man and it hooked him on growing orchids. He was in his late 80's when he died in 2018. His wife gifted me the plant to remember him by. He always said it was species but I have my doubts. You are into the older catts, can you help with an ID? Oh, it tested virus free.
You said in your newsletter to put our orchids outside for the summer. Here are some of mine in a previous year’s summer vacation in the dogwood tree. Almost time for another summer tree vacation.😊
Top Fan of this FB Page awesome pic! Thanks for all of your posts!
Absolutely stunning Orchids.
Lots of baby catts await planting
Oh my god so wonderful to see you guys on Sunday Morning!!
I just discovered you and your store through a WaPo article. I live north of DC in Germantown MD and am making a plan to come down and visit your two locations in a week or two. Have loved orchids all my life (aunt/uncle bred them in a greenhouse) and started collecting seriously in 2017. Currently have over 60+ of all varieties. Thank you for what you do! Cannot wait to check out your shop!
Lovely!
Am making my Christmas list...do you still offer The Orchid of the Month Club?
Hi Mr Chadwick, it was good to meet you yesterday. Really enjoyed touring the greenhouses and scoring my very own Michelle Obama First Lady cattleya orchid! Hopefully some of the other 102,000 followers of Orchids of the World will someday get the chance!
LOVELY PLANTS, GENTLEMEN! US ORCHID NUTS GOTTA STICK TOGETHER!
Saw a great story on you last night here on a local NPR station, but the sound wasn't great. Can I order and what is the process?
