To any of you not following MaLinda on her personal page:

Our founder, fiber artist and my wife, MaLinda has past away. Your prays are appreciated. MaLinda was always the driving force of the farm.

I will announce the fate of the farm in the future.

She appreciated all of you for not only being loyal customers but in many cases true friends.

Hey all my local customers!! It's the time of year for last minute gift purchases and we have you covered. We have handmade, lambswool fingerless gloves, hats, and scarves. We still have a dozen or so pair of our Wool/Alpaca socks too. Of course, we have our Sheep Ornaments!

I now have a small shop in Powhatan Courthouse where you can come to privately shop without the rush. Because of parking limitations, I only ask that you text or call for the address before you come by. The number is (804) 909-1980. My plan is to be at the shop Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and possibly a few hours Saturday (this depends on what items are left).

Here are a few photos of some of our super nice, warm from the farm woolies!

Good job and thank you!!

Good job and thank you!!

"I turn vegetation into wool. What is your Superpower?"

How amazing that sheep turn vegetation (water and sunlight) into a renewable wool resource, protecting them from the climatic changes, and in turn protecting us.👏 🐏

Our Story

The Breeze Hill Farm story began in 1993 with 4 Romney x Border Leicester sheep, 3 Angora Rabbits, a spinning wheel and the desire to bring a high quality, locally raised yarn to the knitting community. At the same time produce wool and fiber for other fiber artist that had not or could not make the leap into raising livestock. Not an easy task without the internet!!

Through the years, as peoples interests changed, we continued to change and grow ourselves. During leaner times, we started a farm based fiber share program. Also, we started having our fibers processed at the mill. Handspun yarn became a specialty. At one point we had 30 sheep, over 25 Angora rabbits, 2 llamas, an Angora goat, plus a handful of dairy goats. Having made the choice, in the beginning, to be a “no kill” farm, each year was becoming harder on us because of so many ram lambs. In 2008, we ended our breeding program and chose to bring in ewe lambs to add to our flock.

Fast forward to today. So many things have changed. There is a lot more competition now in the small fiber farm community. The demand for sustainable yarns and fibers has grown. We do still have our original bloodline of sheep but we’ve new breeds, with different fiber types to tempt our customers with! I teach knitting, crochet, spinning and needle felting classes year round. It is also my job to create..the fun part. Hubby is the farmer. He keeps our producers fed, vetted and spoiled. You can find us at fiber festivals, farmers markets, holiday markets, special events and of course..online.

The past 25 years have been an awesome journey and we can’t wait to see where the future takes this fantastic and amazing industry and our quest to make the “perfect yarn”.
