So proud of our son!!! He did a great job of selling his grandma's homemade strawberry cake (fundraiser for our local FFA & 4H), then he did a great job of showing his hair sheep πand his Berkshire guilt. He also did GREAT in showmanship even though his grandma and I thought he should have won π (though we are super proud of Kalley, she did a fantastic job and deserved the win).
We had 2 bottle babies with us at the show and if you know me at all you know that once I start feeding them I am mom and they are MY babies. I have had quite a few bottle babies over the years and all but 1 of them are still here and will die here BUT, I had a young man and his grandpa approach me at the show wanting to buy my babies. My first thought/instinct was to say no (and I did) but the more we talked to them the more I liked the idea of selling my "BABIES" to them. See...they were going to be a project for the little man ( with grandpa's help). Below is a picture of the babies and their new owner (the little man in black). Apparently he has already helped his grandpa bottle feed a few goats and they have a ram they are bottle feeding so adding the girls would be a easy transition. Howard (he likes to think he is the shepherd in charge πππ€£) talked to Randy (the grandpa) yesterday and the girls ( and their young owner) are doing great!
All in all, Saturday was a great day. We ended the day at Juana's (our local Mexican restaurant) with good food and family....which is what life is all about!!!
From all the Shepherds at Lazy B...we hope you have a wonderful day, God Bless!!!
