So recently the big kid has been tasked with collecting 50 different bugs for her upcoming entomology class in the fall. This has led to some interesting adventures so far, and a new fixation for the middle child who is now all about catching bugs. (She's got to do something with her time while she's waiting on another set of new motors for that damn Barbie car).
Currently the big kid has a bug net riding in her car, just in case. The middle child is out there with her tweezers and bug box, and I will utilize anything i.e. a feed bucket that caught these two little fornicators this morning. There has been a butterfly chase with a lick tub, baggies in my bee bag on the off chance I can remember to grab a bee while in the hives and who knows what else will be utilized for this bug catching adventure.
We did have to have a conversation about the bugs can't go in my commercial freezer please. So if you drop by and find a Tupperware with bugs or the stray baggied bug just chillin' in my freezer, just know there is actually a reason and we aren't all insane here. I mean, maybe a little insane.
