Does anyone else just love a slow-motion video? There is something about them that just captivates me and leaves me in awe!
Jon checked on our girls today and they were busy little bees! You can see their legs full of pollen and a couple of them have so much they can barely fly! This is a great sign, but we have to be wary since we could still see freezing weather. We are keeping our fingers crossed for a honey flow in a couple of months!

These guys are two weeks old. Spent their first night outside last night and did well. We’ll keep the heat lamp on at night until they feather out more but happy to have them outside.

Next week will be interesting for them. They are moving out to the pasture and we are going to get some cooler weather too. 6 weeks to go.

Last week our chicks arrived and we had quite a few DOA. The hatchery sent us out the replacements this week with zero losses on this shipment. About half are broilers and the other half are egg layers. They will all be moved out to the pasture in a few short weeks.

And just like that, it was gone.

After a busy couple of days, we are out of Bacon.

But fear not, we have more pork coming next week and that includes bacon!

We still have most of our other cuts in stock, including brats and chops for the grill this week.

Shoot us a message if you want to pre-order one (or two or three) of our bulk packages and we’ll deliver it as soon as we pick it up next week.

This last batch went fast so don’t wait too long!

Our Story

In 2017, we (Husband Jon, Wife Karen and two beautiful little girls) moved almost 700 miles from Illinois to Arkansas. We bought a great, but rough, 30 acre property with a good mix of woods, pasture and yard. Slowly, we are working to revive this small farm by responsibly tending to the land and raising our animals as naturally as we possibly can.

We started last year with a small flock of laying hens which has now grown to almost 50! They are free range chickens who are fed an organic, non-GMO feed to supplement their natural foraging.

We also raise some of the best pork in the world. Berkshire pork is known to many as the Kobe Beef of pork. Our pigs are raised in our woods and part of our pasture, always in nature, never on a concrete pad. On top of what they get from the land, we feed a high quality, non-GMO feed. No steroids, no antibiotics.

This spring we added two colonies of honey bees. We are learning a lot and may get some honey this year but we are planning on having a good harvest early in 2019.
