Christmas Creek Farms

Christmas Creek Farms Dennis and Lorna are building a new house out at Dennis' mother's family's homestead in Limestone County. Dennis owns 60 acres and his uncle owns the other 100.

We're calling it Christmas Creek after the creek that runs near the farm.

Haven't posted in awhile because we haven't done anything to post about. There have been some family medical emergencies and a couple of big birthdays to celebrate. It took me a lot longer to get over the accident than I would have thought. And we were building the bank account back up. It will probably be May before anything major happens. Natalie's stent procedure is still pending and we have Triumph Regionals later this month. However, we haven't been just totally sitting on our behinds. Dennis has been doing some grading and clean up outside. We are also getting rid of a lot of the stuff we moved down here that we have finally accepted the reality we won't use again. So as a result, my laundry room has been thoroughly cleaned and purged. It's much better for the effort. I'm going to work on doing some more purging and we are in the process of arranging to finally have our residential part of the property fenced in. Then maybe I can get some plantings in that the cows won't mow down. SOOO, hopefully next month you will be hearing all about our master bathroom. That should be a piece of cake after some of the other work we've done. We are both looking forward to not having to shower in the garage!!! The guest bath is going to be old farm house style so I've got a claw foot tub to restore and an old buffet to retrofit as a vanity. I'm looking forward to that room. I think it will be my favorite project. Then maybe we can do the master bedroom and the "reading room," which is just a room instead of a hall that allows access to the bedrooms and baths. Then I don't know what I'll do with myself.
