🍳 Safety Saturday: Cooking Fires Start Fast

Did you know that cooking is the leading cause of home fires in the United States?

A great meal can turn into an emergency in just a few seconds if you're not paying attention.

Here are a few simple ways to keep your family safe:

👨‍🍳 Stay in the kitchen whenever you're frying, grilling, or broiling food.
🍽️ Keep anything that can burn—such as towels, potholders, paper products, and curtains—away from the stove.
🔥 If a grease fire starts, DO NOT use water. Instead, turn off the burner if it's safe to do so and carefully place a lid over the pan to smother the flames.
🧯 Keep a fire extinguisher in your kitchen and know how to use it.

Taking a few extra precautions can help keep your kitchen safe and your family protected.
