Unfortunately we will not be able to open for pick-your-own figs this year. It's pretty much a carbon-copy of last year. Our fig trees froze to the ground in the winter, and while the trees have survived, the amount and quality of the fruit is not up to the standards we would need in order to open to the public. That's farming!
We will be closed until next spring. We'll be busy pruning, weeding and planting over the rest of the year. We hope to see you next year.

We are closing for the spring 2026 pick-your-own blackberry and blueberry season.
Thanks to everyone who came to visit and supported us. It has been our biggest and most successful season for us so far, and we hope to have many more to come.
There is an outside chance that we will be able to open for pick-your-own figs in late summer, August-September. Our figs were damaged by winter freezes for the second year in a row. As they recover, some have put on fruit, but only about half of them. If they all ripen together then we will open for picking, but at this point it's a coin flip. Check back with us in late August.

**Weather update: We received a heavy rain overnight, but we will open as scheduled. But you may want to bring your mud boots or old sneakers because the orchard will be wet in spots**.

We will open for pick-your-own blackberries and blueberries on Saturday, June 20 by appointment only.
We have spots available for 7:30 am and 9:15 am. One reservation needed per vehicle. If the link doesn't work, that means it's filled up.
Good news is that we still have blackberries and blueberries available for picking, although blueberries are getting scarce. Portions of the orchard are picked out, and some blackberries are suffering from blight. Be "picky" and only pick the good berries, and leave the sour ones for the birds. Make sure to ask us where the good picking spots are.
Also, it will be warm, even this early in the morning! Bring a good hat and drinking water. It's a good hike from the parking area to the orchard.

We will be CLOSED on Wednesday due to weather. We received a lot of rain and our unpaved parking area cannot accommodate vehicles. The orchard is pretty soggy too.
We will keep Saturday morning on the schedule and hope for a dry out.

Update: Some reservation spot have opened up. Come by if you are close. But keep an eye on the weather because there is a chance we will not be able to open if we get too much rain today. Check back here before heading over this evening. **
We will open for pick-your-own blackberries and blueberries on Monday, June 15 at 6 pm by appointment.
We're in the last week of our season. The berries are starting to slow down as the majority of the orchard has either been picked out or is suffering from the heat. There are more blackberries than blueberries. There still are good berries to pick, but it will require more work than the easy picking of the past few weeks.
We are requiring reservations in order to match the number of visitors with the amount of ripe fruit that we have.
Note that there is rain in the forecast for Monday, so check back with this post or our website in case there are late-breaking weather-related announcements.
Berries are $8 a pound. We accept cash, credit cards and Venmo. We provide picking buckets. No smoking, no pets. We are located at 40269 Abby James Rd in Prairieville, LA.

We took a walk through the orchard this Friday evening, June 12, and I'm sad to report that sections of the blackberries are succumbing to blight. The early season rain and recent heat are tough on the blackberry canes. There's enough good berries to open for picking but I'll ask our morning pickers to be discriminating and only pick the best of the berries. Ponca blackberries are taking it particularly rough, but Osage, Ouachita, Kiowa and Caddo are doing better.
Meanwhile, we have blueberries to pick but it's not the easy picking it was before.
We can still pick berries and have a good time, but just want to note that picking will require a little more work than it did just a week ago.

We will open for pick-your-own blackberries and blueberries on Saturday morning, June 13, from 8 am to 10:30 am.
Blackberries are still plentiful and ripening quickly, but blueberries are starting to trail off as we approach the last picking sessions of the 2026 season. There will be blueberries to pick but it won't be the easy picking we had over the past few weeks.
Our last picking day over the past two years has been June 19, so the season is beginning to wind down. Get here in the next few sessions or you might have to wait until next year.
Reservations will not be required for this session.

The blackberries have kicked into high gear. Some of them are so big, they make your hands look like strange doll hands!
We will open next for pick-your-own blackberries and blueberries on Wednesday afternoon, June 10 from 6 pm to 7:30 pm.
Reservations are not required; first come, first served.
