I prefer to avoid using chemicals to manage the vegetation under my fences, so I string trim instead. I make one pass around the outside in early to mid June and then a couple/three weeks later I make another pass around the inside and some years that's enough. If we get lots of rain I might have to go around again. Vegetation can really cut down on the fences zap strength, allowing for sheep and predators to be naughty.
