Sojourner Farms Family owned farm in Prentiss. Riding lessons, boarding, training and a range of farrier services. Year round boarding, and summer time Fun Shows!

We are a family-friendly farm environment offering riding lessons with our C.H.A. certified Riding Instructor for all ages and riding levels, boarding and equine training both at our own farm or the trainer can come to your farm! Offering lessons May through October, but we ride all year round and do offer that as an option to full time students. We also offer natural barefoot farrier work all acr

oss eastern Maine and southern Aroostook. Located conveniently between Houlton, Maine and Lincoln, Maine. We also do non-state affiliated rescue work. We are a safe, knowledgeable facility to surrender to and have had many rescue horses, sheep, dogs, etc come through our doors. We are not a licensed state rescue and do not have federal funding but pay out of pocket for rescue and rehabilitation of any equine (or other animal) that comes to our attention. Donations are gladly accepted to help with this work. Please call or message with any questions!

Good morning from the farm! With the summer heat in full swing we have 3 reminders for students -

• please don’t be afraid to ask for water breaks while riding, I always try to remember to ask if you need water, but it’s important for you to stay hydrated especially while riding or doing any exercise in the heat, I will never say no to a water break!

• If we are going through an unusually hot spell lessons will be morning hours only before 11am. Thank you for understanding we put our horses health first.

• your lesson time always includes the grooming, tacking up and untacking process. We teach from the ground up. Trail rides do not include this.

We have been having such an enjoyable, safe summer so far with a great bunch of riders and I want to thank everyone for their cooperation! Happy trails and if you aren’t on the lesson schedule yet give us a shout, we can get you involved!

There is something peaceful about an old horse grazing contentedly in the field, knowing their job is done, their life has been good and the rest of their days will be soft and peaceful.

But she does have one more job to do, and that is to look pretty and remind you that we are back to riding lesson season and you can message or call to get on the schedule any time 😁🌤️🦄
