Big Nose Kate has her own booth at The Palace Saloon in Prescott- Arizona’s oldest frontier bar. She and Doc were known to drink here on Whiskey Row long before the fire of 1900. Now, over a century later, her names emblazoned into the wood where stories linger longer than the whiskey.

It’s been a heavy season in whiskey.

We’ve watched friends and peers - folks who poured their hearts into building something beautiful - make the difficult decision to shut their doors. These were great brands, great products, built by passionate people who believed in doing it right. Industry headwinds, shifting tides, and the sheer cost of staying in have taken a real toll.

We feel that. Deeply.

At Big Nose Kate, we’re incredibly grateful to still be here despite the challenges of building small.

John Henry “Doc” Holliday was born this day in 1851. Doc is well known as the boyfriend-or common law husband- of the inimitable gambler, outlaw, and renaissance woman, Big Nose Kate. A charming Georgia-born dentist-turned-gambler, Doc was lucky to settle with a strong, industrious woman such as Kate. Though his life was cut short by consumption, history will always remember him for his loyalty, his striking blue eyes, and his fiery affair with a Western legend.
