I've been getting lots of inquiries for hens or pullets lately-I do have a few extra roosters that could be discussed, but I will not have anything else (besides a few extra chicks) for the next month or so. Thank you!

$25 spay and neuter for cats (see link), AND the Kindred Soul Veterinary Services (the original poster) does microchipping for chickens at a very affordable rate (which is a great way to supplement documentation of birds, or replace leg banding all together if you want)

Just curious, why do people love Exzolt so much? Not sure if it is actually really popular, or if it just seems that way because I see so many people post about it on Facebook. (I use Ivermectin pour over and Permethrin spray on the coops/runs. We are in Wisconsin and it seems it's mostly people in warmer climates that have this issue)

We have never had mites, but we do get scaly leg mites here, which are easily taken care of by the Ivermectin. I learned this method from "old timers" that have been raising Silkies much longer than me. It works really well, covers other parasites like worms and my birds are very strong and healthy so just curious about the Exzolt...I'm personally a little leary only because I have heard from a couple of people that some of their birds had bad reactions from it. The way it works reminds me of NexGard for dogs, which I have been advised against using on my dogs because a sibling of my oldest boy almost died from it, the same kind of reaction that I heard of chickens having (seizures). Maybe it's more popular in the south where people have bigger issues with mites?

Sometimes I wish I had a GoPro camera strapped to my forehead when I'm doing my daily chicken chores, I see the most beautiful, adorable things but they happen in a flash so I could not pull out my phone and capture it. Yesterday was one of those days: I moved some 6 week old chicks into a coop with a broody momma who has never experienced chicks before. Her immediate reaction was to puff up and go into "protect" position, but within that same second she quickly realized they were babies, she relaxed and started purring- huddling them into her protective warm body, it was so incredible to see. Nature is so amazing
