Our herd got a little smaller this morning. Toby Thunder was the dam of Hersheys Marilyn Monroe (and many other wonderful offspring). I had set out to buy her to breed since I loved Marilyn so much. At first it didn’t work out but in 2010 she was gifted to me and came to our farm. She was a bit standoffish and always ditzy but over the years turned into one of the sweetest horses we’ve had, always mothering the others. She was 29 years old and lived a good life, but somehow they never seem long enough. She will definitely be missed on Copper Creek Farm.

If you are in Louisville today for the derby festival parade watch for the Miss Rodeo Kentucky crew. I will be riding with some of our other board members and our title holders. I believe it is also being televised in the Louisville area.

Maggie has had quite the growth spurt since October. We unfortunately lost her dam in November so she was weaned at that time. She’s done really well since and enjoys time with her herd mate, Toby. We will be keeping this filly for future breeding since we lost Sassy.

First show season with this girl and she brought home the RMHA Ladies Show Pleasure High Points! Can’t wait to see how she progresses 💜

Maggie is a gorgeous bay filly (EE Aa) sired by the leading trail mileage stallion, Striders Major Deal and out of Shes Something Special, a direct by Magnum mare. Maggie is curious, super sweet, and a quick learner. Today was her first leading lesson in awhile and she did amazing. Picks up all four feet well. Very in your pocket personality. She can be weaned anytime now.

A beautiful Jasper baby….Prairie Hawk, 2yr old filly.

Prairie Hawk in the barn to get her hair brushed and to get some botfly eggs scraped off. I thought she had a cut on her face but the skin isn’t broke, just knocked the hair off. Girlie needs to be more careful! 2 year old filly, Raising the Bar x AHFs Nickolette.

CCF Unleashed
3rd out of 19 in 10+ Amateur Trail (behind two of the winningest trail horses in the breed for the last several years). I’m so proud of this horse!! Tomorrow we will try our luck in the 10+ mares, Geldings, and Stallions Trail 💙💙
Tomorrow is Baylee’s turn! We are in the very first class in the morning, class 33 so come cheer for us!!! We are back number 300.

Copper Creek is ready for the RMHA International!! We will be in Barns 5&6 this year with our Lyon Stables crew. Looking forward to a great week enjoying these horses we love so much!
We hope the ribbons are great but enjoying our horses and one another will be greater. We are blessed to get to spend another year doing what we love. 🎪❤️🐴 From our first international in 1996 till now…this is the Greatest Show!!

We are getting down to crunch time before the RMHA International!! Cannot wait to show Baylee and Unleashed! The show will be at the covered arena of the Kentucky Horse Park Sept 6-9. It starts at 9am with morning and afternoon/evening classes. So if you’re in the area come out and cheer us on!!
